” Amir fumes over ‘fixer’ chants during PSL match against Qalandars ” | GNN INFO

Quetta Gladiators’ pacer, Mohammad Amir, flew into a rage after an incident during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match against Lahore Qalandars at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on Sunday.
Amir, who has had a tumultuous journey in cricket, became enraged when he was called a “fixer” by a member of the crowd. Reacting angrily to the derogatory chants, he retorted, “Is this what you learn at your home?”
This incident resurfaced memories of a dark chapter in Amir’s career. In 2010, his promising career’s trajectory took a sharp downturn when he was implicated in a spot-fixing scandal at Lord’s, orchestrated by a British newspaper sting operation.
Along with his teammates Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt, Amir faced severe consequences, including bans from cricket and jail sentences.
Despite facing adversity, Amir earned sympathy from many due to his young age at the time of the incident. After serving his ban, he made a comeback to international cricket in 2016.
It is worth noting that Amir’s team, Quetta, secured a spot in the playoffs of the ongoing PSL season nine after a last-ball thriller against Lahore.
