SZA sweeps iHeartRadio Music Awards with four wins

Solána Imani Rowe, popularly known by her stage name SZA, emerged as the standout star at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, taking home four of the eight awards for which she was nominated.

The event, broadcasted live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Fox, saw the 34-year-old alt-R&B sensation clinch the ‘triple crown’ by winning Best R&B Song for “Snooze,” R&B Album for “SOS,” and R&B Artist of the Year.

Expressing her gratitude on Instagram, SZA, who enjoys a massive following of 37.9 million social media users, shared, “Thank you so much @iheartradio for playing my music and turning this normal girl into a legit radio artist.”

She reflected on her journey, recalling how industry executives had doubted her potential for radio success. “For so long industry executives told me I didn’t make radio records and had no radio history so they couldn’t take the risk on me. Thank you to everyone that took a risk and believed in this album and these songs. I love and appreciate everyone.”

The accolades didn’t end there for the Missouri-born artist, as Katy Perry, an American Idol judge, awarded her the Song of the Year trophy for her hit “Kill Bill.”

Currently on her 81-date SOS Tour, SZA is set to perform next at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, NC, this Saturday.

With an impressive 71.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify, the singer is gearing up to release her highly anticipated third studio album, “Lana,” later this year, promising more groundbreaking music and profound emotional depth that fans have come to adore from the artist.
