Johnny Depp and Sydney Sweeney are teaming up for the supernatural thriller ‘Day Drinker’, directed by Marc Webb (known for “500 Days of Summer” and “The Amazing Spider-Man”). Jeff Sneider’s TheInSneider newsletter broke the news.

The script, written by Zach Dean (“The Tomorrow War”, “Fast X”), reportedly follows an “enigmatic stranger (Depp) and a bartender (Sweeney) mourning the loss of her lover.” The film is said to explore themes of “love, friendship, and revenge.”

‘Day Drinker’ marks a major comeback role for Depp following his 2021 defamation trial victory. He recently starred in “Jeanne du Barry” and directed a film about Amedeo Modigliani.

Sydney Sweeney is building on recent successes like “Anyone But You”, “Immaculate”, and her SNL hosting gig.
